Summary: Directly responsible for all financial activities of a site/plant of the organization, i.e. manufacturing facility by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Establish standard costs for the site/plant using the SAP standard cost system.  Periodically review and  analyze standard cost variances and report findings to Operations Controller and the site/plant operational management team.  In conjunction with the operations management team, identify root causes and determine appropriate corrective action plan.  Track the action plan.

 

  • Track all site/plant KPIs impacting product cost, production facility costs and operational performance.

 

  • Lead periodic meetings with site/plant management to review the facility's financial performance as well as its progress in its cost savings, margin improvement and production efficiencies programs and activities. Prepare and analyze the site/plant’s monthly financial performance for review with site/plant management and operations controller.

 

  • Partner with Plant Management Team to quantify opportunities for improvement, productivity projects and identify process inefficiencies to drive bottom line cost savings and profitability growth.

 

  • Perform monthly inventory analysis, materials balancing and a roll forward of all inventories. Review month-end inventory valuation to assure that all inventory is stated at the lower of cost or market.  Conduct quarterly audits of the physical inventory counts to validate internal controls.

 

  • Responsible for all aspects of reporting for the facility, month end analysis, forecasting, budgeting and regulatory requirements.  Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.

 

 

  • Support plant management team to prepare annual operating and capital expenditure budgets including all review of budget proposals. Prepare all necessary supporting documentation and justifications.  Conduct monthly reviews of budget vs. actual variances to drive accountability of controllable spend.

 

  • Lead all activities related to the site/plant’s zero based program.

 

  • Track and analyze all of site/plant’s capital expenditures against the capital expenditure budget.  Ensures that all applicable capital expenditures have a documented Return on Investment (“ROI”) calculation approved in accordance with the Company’s policies.   

 

  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.  Ensure integrity of internal controls through audits of company accounts and financial transactions.

 

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with business customers. Act as key point of contact for problems these customers may encounter.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:                                            

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related field; and three to five years related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA and CPA preferred.

 

Language Skills:                                           

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.  Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.  Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

Reasoning Ability:                                                   

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:                                                      

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
