kp is hiring a Controller for our Rural Retreat, VA manufacturing facility.  The Controller will be responsible for all finance related operations within the site including cost accounting, standard costing, month/quarter/year end close, FP&A analysis and budgeting.  The Controller serves as a true business partner to the facility working closely with the Plant Manger and other key team members within the facility and the overall financial organization.  Other duties include, but are limited to: 

 

The Role

  • Streamline reporting, forecasting and analysis to drive decision-making; identify areas that provide low value and work to reallocate resources to provide more meaningful information
  • Collaborate and partner with the Plant Manager and various leaders to support the daily operations of the plant and guide production and inventory management, costs and variances, and cost analysis of new products;
  • Participate in periodic meetings with site/plant management to review the facility's financial performance as well as its progress in its cost savings, margin improvement and production efficiencies programs and activities.
  • Analytically use the standard costs for the site/plant using the SAP standard cost system. 
  • Collaborate with the plant management team to prepare and analyze annual operating and capital expenditure budgets including all review of budget proposals 
  • Prepare P&L Forecasts & Weekly Estimates for the plant;
  • Ensure accuracy of internal and external financial reporting; ensure that effective internal controls are in place and compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting;
  • Conduct detailed analytical reviews of sales, gross margins, operating cost and profit margins by served industries, customer, and value propositions; Track all site/plant KPIs impacting product cost, production facility costs and operational performance.
  • Provide and present management with applicable financial reports and analysis monthly;
  • Monitor inventories, downgrading’s, consignment stocks, WIP, and slow moving calculation
  • Prepare and track Capex projects and ROI calculation
  • Take ownership of the accounting and finance functions for the site.

  
Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration;
  • Cost Accounting Roles experience required; 
  • Minimum 5 years professional finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required;
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience required;
  • Technology:  SAP, SAP BW, MS Office including strong Excel proficiency desired, Power BI is a plus.
  • Must be able to commute to the kp Rural Retreat facility at least three days per week. The role is considered Hybrid remote/in-office.
