Summary:

Assists in the Set-up and operation of a Slitting Machine to produce a quality product in accordance with predetermined specifications and in accordance with predetermined production schedules by performing the following duties.                                          

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for assisting the Slitter Operator in set-up, loading, adjusting, operation and unloading the slitter in a manner which will produce a quality on-time product with the utmost efficiency.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understandong to carry out detailed but involved written and oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Assists in maintaining accuracy and traceability throughout customer order.
  • Assists in maintaining customer specifications throughout customer order.
  • Maintains accuracy of product weighing.
  • Palletizes material to customer specifications.
  • Cuts up and properly identifies rework.
  • Maintains proper safety and housekeeping practices at all times.
  • May act as operator in his/her absence.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Education and/or Experience:                                               

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR ROTATING SHIFTS ( 4 DAYS ON/ 4 DAYS OFF) INCLUDING NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, AND HOLIDAYS

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OVERTIME
