Logistics Dispatch Load Planner

kp is currently looking for a Logistics Dispatch Load Planner for our Pharma, Health & Durables Division. This position is based in Portugal.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Execute domestic transportation and import/export operations including customs clearance, load building/dispatching, track & trace, document preparation & reconciliation for various modes of transportation.
• Coordinate shipments to satisfy on-time delivery expectations.
• Communicate with Sales, Customer Service, Transport Suppliers, and other departments as necessary to develop and implement delivery strategy and continuous improvement.
• Monitor transport supplier performance and alert Logistics management, Customer Service, and Sales, to any transportation or delivery issues.
• Obtain quotes for delivery of kp products/materials and manage negotiation of agreements.
• Group based project management to improve process efficiency, service quality, and freight costs.
• Develop and implement transportation and supplier strategies to meet departmental goals and mitigate common cost drivers.
• Resolve supplier discrepancies, price, and delivery issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in meetings to manage expedited materials, major projects, and resolve problems
• Collaborate with Logistics team/other departments in the creation, processing, and maintaining of various logistics reports as needed (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
• Assist in the development of sustainable cost-effective solutions that leverage kp’s inbound and outbound volume, systems, and partnerships
• Adhere to existing processes and procedures to ensure daily execution of logistics policies, operating standards, and service level agreements
• Ability to identify problems, recommend, and execute creative/innovative solutions.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts
• Work closely with the other departments to deliver outstanding service and support the programs/initiatives that drive our company’s business objectives
• Identify and prioritize logistics needs, partner with logistics team to communicate recommendations to management in order to achieve a holistic, efficient and effective end to end product distribution model
   

Educational requirements/qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience Logistics/Transportation/Distribution/Import & Export experience preferred
• Understanding of supply chain (logistics/transportation/warehousing)

Knowledge and Skills:

• TMS/ERP Experience Preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Excel, Word, Outlook, & PowerPoint
• Technical, Analytical Skills, and Business Knowledge
• Language: Bi-lingual German & English; written and verbal highly desirable
• Communication and Interpersonal skills; Teamwork and Leadership
• Organizational Skills; Self-management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
