Purpose of the job:     

The Head of Shared Service Centre (SSC) represents the SSC entity and is responsible for all provided services.

 

Tasks and responsibilities:    

•           Representation of the SSC internally (within the Group) and externally;

•           Relationship management with the management of serviced countries;

•           Communication to internal and external stakeholders;

•           Setup and maintenance of efficient management structures (Managers, Team Leaders, Coordinators);

•           Overarching management of services, based on Service Level Agreements (SLA) / ensuring quality requirements agreed in SLAs;

•           Execution of the services and processes is carried out in cooperation with global guidelines and terms of the global process owner;

•           Responsible for high quality and efficient execution of all process across all business units, in line with the company’s business objectives;

•           Responsible for SSC internal support functions such as Human Resources, IT, Controlling;

•           Planning and monitoring of SSC budget;

•           Compliance and implementation of global accounting methods, procedures and processes, including key technologies;

•           Coordination of management activities to ensure data security and risk management within the SSC;

•           Responsible for compliance with all legal requirements;

•           Further development of the SSC organization and continuous process improvement and harmonization in coordination with process owners;

•           Member of all relevant SSC governance boards;

•           Support transfer of processes during transition;

•           Leadership of and responsibility for SSC Personnel of up to 150 employees including personnel development, performance appraisal as well as succession planning, recruitment planning, decision and control of recruitments;

•           Implementation of a distinctive SSC culture and motivation of staff on management and operational level;

•           Maintaining a good relationship with other business executives and other stakeholder;

•           Relationship management with the senior management of the financial community  (local and regional CFOs, controlling).

•           Treat sensitive and/or confidential information appropriately.

           

 

Functional/Technical Skills:   

•           Bachelor or Master degree in Economics, Business or Finance with a focus on accounting or equivalent qualifications;

•           Professional working proficiency in English, Portuguese and another European language (German, Italian, French, Spanish and Dutch preferred);

•           Strong Leadership, Team Work and People Management skills;

•           Excellent Planning and Organisation;

•           Persuasiveness and Negotiation skills;

•           Effective business writing and professional communication skills;

•           Strong analytical skills and experience to think in complex environments and work in global matrix organizations;

•           Excellent knowledge of MS Office;

•           Excellent technical understanding of the overall accounting process and technical solutions.

 

Experience:    

•           10+ years of experience in Finance or SSC management

•           10+ years leadership experience in an accounting environment;

•           Project management experience leading large scale projects;
