We are currently recruiting a General Ledger Manager. This pivotal role involves leading the General Ledger (GL) department, with a direct reporting line to the Director of Shared Services Centre.

 

Your Responsibilities:
 

  • Responsible for GL department with people responsibility and ownership of GL processes;
  • Determine structure and division of task within the GL department;
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative targets for the department and the team members;
  • Conduct evaluation meetings and provide direction where necessary;
  • Responsible for timely period end closing and timely reporting of monthly financial information;
  • Ensure compliance and internal and external accounting standards, policies and procedures are followed;
  • Supervise annual and interim audits in close cooperation with other departments and auditors;
  • Control the service delivery in general ledger and meet service levels and performance standards set;
  • Coordinate or perform projects related to accounting and reporting;
  • Ensure best practice and continuous improvement philosophies are applied;

Your Profile:

 

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business or Economics or similar field with 7+ years of professional experience in finance and accounting or equivalent in multinational companies;
  • CA or CPA degree preferred;
  • 3+ years people responsibility experience;
  • Experience in preparation of financial closings and filings;
  • Experience within a Shared Service Centre environment preferred;
  • Professional working proficiency in English another European language (German, Italian, French, Spanish) preferred;
  • Strong Leadership, Team Work and People Management skills;
  • Excellent Planning and Organisation;
  • Persuasiveness and Negotiation skills;
  • Build Trust and Partnerships;
  • Anticipate and resolve conflicts by pursuing mutually agreeable solutions;
  • Effective business writing and professional communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills and experience to think in complex environments and work in global matrix organizations;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and SAP. JDE would be a plus

 

Knowledge:

 

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS;
  • Good understanding of accounting standards in one of the following GAAPs: Portugal, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK or USA;
  • Deep knowledge in internal controls;
  • Project planning and project management skills:
