Summary:
The Raw Materials Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the daily job tasks of employees in the Raw Materials Department ensuring that all RM employees follow standard operating procedures, operate per established standard line conditions, and work in a safe manner at all times. In addition, the RM Supervisor will develop a cross-functional workforce, standardize best practices, challenge and optimize Daily Management Skills, Problem Solving Techniques and Continuous Improvement Activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead by example - promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all RM employees follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner at all times.
- Drive safety improvements through risk identification and elimination, as well as full compliance with daily risk assessment completion, leveraging support from other groups as needed.
- Complete required PASA audits for improving Behavior Based Safety, and drive team behaviors for continued safety awareness and practices.
- Develop and implement standard work, SOPs, work instructions, and procedures for the RM department; update as needed.
- Establish and drive a culture of Lean and 5S practices.
- Submit work orders to ensure equipment is properly maintained and PM30s are completed per schedule.
- Track KPIs pertaining to rework processing, silo filling and rework quality.
- Manage railcar/silo processes.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily job tasks of employees in the RM department (rework processing, receiving, buyback testing, railcar/silo, and material handling).
- Develop cross-functional workforce.
- Support RF implementation.
- Optimize material flow and warehouse space utilization.
- Empower and hold direct reports accountable for HSSE, Quality, 5S, and productivity.
- Resolve employee conflicts through coaching and accountability.
- Manage team performance through training, coaching, motivation, and mentoring.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Lead physical inventory for raw materials and rework, ensuring accuracy.
- Coordinate trailer unloading and material staging to support production schedules.
- Partner with Site HR Manager to ensure that recruitment, training, development, attendance, disciplinary issues, succession planning, and employee relations are managed at a tangible level to drive improved performance.
- Execute the strategic vision for RM department and ensure alignment with the Plant’s operational and financial goals.
- Align with kp’s strategic compass and core behaviors: Focus, Accountability, Respect, and Urgency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises employees in the RM department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing facility. Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office.
