Purpose of the job:
The Central Procurement team is looking for a Manager of recycled materials in North America. This role will focus on identifying opportunities for cost effective and reliable streams of Post Industrial rPVC, rPET, rPETG flakes and pellets. This role will also be responsible for scrap sales in alignment with Operations, Supply Chain and local Procurement under the umbrella of the Global Scrap Management Working Group.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
• Maintain the relationship and source new suppliers of recycled materials in order to ensure supply security for Post-Industrial Rework/PIR (rPVC, rPET: PIR, rPET-G) of four NA sites.
• Negotiate optimal prices and payment terms for recycled materials both on spot and contractual basis and continuously evaluate them vs. market prices utilizing market intelligence from various resources.
• Meet demand and price objectives of recycled PIR requirements
• Support recycled resin KPI tracking and variance analysis.
• Identify and evaluate existing, negotiate improved scrap sales programs (volumes, prices) with 3rd party purchasers with support of local SCM/Procurement teams for the Americas (USA, Argentina, Brazil)
• Work with Sales team to set up prices and agreements for buyback customer programs.
• Closely work with Innovation and Quality to qualify new recycled material streams.
• Provide monthly usage reports of recycled materials to the Sustainability team.
• Maintain price info records on a monthly basis
• Define Category Sourcing Strategies under leadership of GPM
• Other projects as assigned
Key competencies:
• Minimum experience includes working in a high-paced manufacturing (ideally plastics conversion) industry in Procurement/SCM leadership roles of minimum 5 years
• Market knowledge of recycled materials is a plus
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, self-motivated, ambitious, and strategic mindset with hands-on approach.
• Team player willing to continuously learn, solve challenging problems, drive projects to successful completion, contribute in process optimization.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Fluent oral and written English
