We are looking for two accountable Process Engineer interns to be responsible for assigned project tasks in the areas of yield, rework, recycling, and standard work. You will work hand in hand with an assigned department manager for job responsibilities, mentorship and reporting.
Klöckner Pentaplast Internships are full-time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, hourly paid positions working onsite in our Gordonsville, VA manufacturing plant. Work hours for this role are flexible being either 7:00 am to 3:30 pm OR 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
- Create and implement extrusion rework system
- Create and implement recycling program for the GOR Campus
- Create and implement yield increase project through order change optimization
- Interact daily with the staff and hourly workers to develop standards and implement requirements.
- Perform assigned responsibilities and mentor projects
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Requirements
- Presently pursuing BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering discipline
- Excellent knowledge of design and definition of standard work
- Advanced MS Office skills including Powerpoint
- Ability to work safely in a high paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
- Must have excellent Project, organizational and time management skills
- High communication proficiency and ability to translate visual and verbal instruction into standard work documents
- Knowledge of PVC/PET rework streams
- Knowledge of lean 6 Sigma principles
