Summary

 

The Global Key User for SAP DIS, will be a functional process lead and critical liaison between business needs, SAP and 3rd party TMS functionalities, leading and supporting DIS processes, systems, and training across the global organization. The Key User is responsible for supporting the end users, defining end user documentation, providing end user training, monitoring data accuracies, identifying process improvements, performing testing, and actively participating in implementation projects.  

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Key User is the “go to” person for the end users in fielding day to day business process issues and questions. The Key User is responsible for gathering all information pertaining to the issue, initiate troubleshooting and resolution, and if required, escalation and logging of the issue with IT.  The Key User works closely with the Business Analyst to test and approve a solution.
  • Develop and maintain Business Process Procedures (BPP) and document process flows to support the defined inventory controls for all materials.  The documentation will be used in training end users on the processes of dispatch/logistics and warehousing operations.
  • Responsible for providing and ensuring the end users are trained and appropriately practicing the defined processes.
  • Accountable for making sure data is being maintained accurately by end users.  Monitor data accuracies and provide guidance to end users to correct data inaccuracies.
  • Identify, document, and communicate process improvements to the SCM Management.  Upon approval from the SCM management, initiate an Enhancement Justification Sheet (EJS) for application enhancements, communicate and educate global alignment.
  • Responsible for testing of issues, validating results, testing application changes, and participating in regression and integration testing. 
  • Being an active team member of rollout projects and other Key User teamwork initiatives.
  • Conducting audits to ensure adherence to documented processes

 

SAP & TMS DIS Expertise:

  • Support SAP DIS module & TMS implementations and upgrades. 
  • Work with IT DIS business analysts to configure and maintain the SAP DIS system to meet business requirements
  • Work with TMS providers to configure and maintain the TMS system(s) to meet business requirements. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DIS & TMS functionalities. 
  • Lead end-to-end SAP DIS & TMS implementation projects. 
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users on SAP DIS & TMS functionalities. 

 

Business Process Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of DIS/Logistics processes. 
  • Represent PHD business unit in SAP projects, providing insights and requirements. 
  • Collaborate with business process owners and stakeholders to understand their needs and current processes. 
  • Analyze current processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization. 
  • Participate in "To-Be" process design, translating business needs into functional solutions. 

 

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as a point of contact for business users regarding SAP DIS & TMS functionalities. 
  • Communicate business requirements and functional specifications to the IT team. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., SD, PP, MM/WM, FI/CO, TMS provider, TMS integration partner) to ensure seamless integration. 
  • Participate in workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather information and build consensus. 

 

 

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Document system configurations, business processes, and user manuals. 
  • Create and maintain training materials. 
  • Generate reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs). 

 

Global Support and Problem Solving:

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for international SAP key users. 
  • Identify and propose solutions for system improvements. 
  • Oversee programming requirements for upgrades or new module implementations. 
  • Participate in global SAP rollouts. 
  • Provide organizational change management support. 

 

Data Migration:

  • Provide functional documentation and input to data mapping sessions. 
  • Assist in the data load validation. 

 

Processes Involved:                    

  • Master data supporting all DIS processes.
  • Master data and configuration in the TMS system(s)

 

PROFILE AND EDUCATION   

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college; five years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in supply chain management/ material and warehouse management roles
  • APICS or other SCM certification is a plus
  • High level functional knowledge of SAP ERP DIS modules
  • High level functional knowledge of integrated and interfaced SAP ERP and TMS applications
  • Ability and experience to lead and effectively drive teams
  • Ability to Write Documentation/ Standard Work/Processes and implement.
  • Ability to Teach/Train Others
  • Highly self-motivated individual focused and driven to provide customer service.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Project management experience; from concept to implementation
  • High level of expertise and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience with various TMS systems plus, E2open (preferred)
  • Experience in business process analysis and documentation.
  • Experience in SAP project environments.
  • Written and Spoken English (Required); additional language German (preferred)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

 

 

Education and/or Experience:                                                 

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills:                                              

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

 

Mathematical Skills:                                                     

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:                               

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, analyze, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:                                              

To perform this job successfully, an individual needs to have knowledge of SAP systems with the use of inventory management, warehouse management, and handling unit management interfacing with a shop floor control (MES) systems, and other related corporate systems (reporting tools).  Additionally, they should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel with proficient use.  Oracle database and application base technical knowledge is beneficial.
