Purpose of the job:
The role is responsible the manufacturing plan for the Extrusion and Thermoforming cells at Featherstone and/or St Helens. The plan will take account of the forecast, current commercial issues, manufacturing capabilities and stock.
The role will involve close contact with both Operations and Sales Teams, and the job holder will demonstrate an understanding of the process/product/customer relationships within the business.
Key Responsibilities include:
Scheduling
• Produce the production plan for Extrusion and Thermoforming cells taking into account manufacturing equipment capability, including tooling, planned maintenance and labour availability.
• To ensure that the plan prioritises customer requirements and product categorisation.
• Attend daily planning meeting
• Measure success in maintaining availability of stock at the target levels
• Measure manufacturing performance to plan
• Continually improve IT systems
Product Data Management
• Control creation of new products
• Maintain MOQ, Stock Holding and other measures in the ERP system
Reporting
• Attend Sales & Operational planning meetings.
• Measure and report forecast accuracy
• Measure and report on customer service levels (OTIF)
• Advise of under/over capacity to Supply Chain Manager
Other
• Manage flexible film stock and orders from sister site in France.
Skills and Experience
Educated to A level standard or equivalent
IT Skills – Knowledge of JDE E1 (or similar ERP system) and MRP
Experience of forecasting and planning, with knowledge of manufacturing and customer service awareness in an FMCG environment
The individual must be flexible and adaptable to change.
They will have the ability to think laterally and apply common sense to the identification of solutions. They will have the ability to manage effective communication across diverse teams and an approachable personality would be beneficial.
