Material Handler/Packer:
Summary: Prepares, converges, and moves raw materials and rework to support production by performing the following duties.

Conveys materials from warehouse and/or trucks to designated lines, recording all material movement into daily log sheet.

Comprehends Coago & I-point to ensure orders are uploaded on time.

Identifies all labels & materials throughout the plant for segregation purposes.

Stacks or assembles materials into neatly stacked rows.

Drives safely to ensure safety of all pedestrians.

Assists production lines during start-up of machines or when needed.

Assists in the packing department when needed.

Operates industrial fork truck or hand truck safely to assist in loading or moving raw materials and rework.
- Operates the core-cutter and the wrapping machine and moves finished goods to assigned areas by performing the following duties.
- Visually inspects the load prior to wrapping, reporting any discrepancies to the foreman. Checks to assure the pallets contain the proper material. Packs the material to meet customer specifications. Sends material to wrapping machine ensuring good quality as well as good substantial wrap.
- May do custom packaging including box assembly, sheet packaging, etc. May package various items for mailing such as finished goods, equipment, tools, booklets, etc.
- Operates other machines in the department such as manual banding, air banding, band saw, staple gun, staple machine, nail gun, hand lifts, riding lift, etc. in a safe and efficient manner.
- Moves wrapped pallets to proper storage area in shipping making sure they have been properly labeled and properly records weights. Accuracy in weighing and properly recording the load is of utmost importance. May help to load trucks.
- Operates core machine in a manner, which will ensure on time delivery to the Slitting/Calender Department with cores meeting predetermined specifications.
- Maintains proper safety and housekeeping practices at all times.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
