Summary: Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Responsible for industrial measuring equipment, manufacturing processes and devices by using standard process-control principles.
  • Leading, maintaining process control design, configuration, simulation, standards, documentation, and operator training
  • Hands on experience in SPC (statistical process control) programming and analysis.
  • Create and improve programs to manage integrity and functionality of Inline Measure Equipment (defects detection / thickness measuring / coating application / color and shine).
  • Maintain integrity and performance of systems, process controls, plant historian and networks
  • Work with other manufacturing support groups to implement and maintain automation systems, execute projects, and communicate the status to operations
  • Troubleshoot process control problems, identify causes, and make recommendations for improvements and/or implement improvements
  • Develop improved on-line and in-line critical property testing
  • Continuous improvements through share learning and new developments, using Lean and Six Sigma concepts.
  • Maintain and manage network environment including troubleshooting filing and archiving of the Inline Measuring System and Statistical Process Software and Applications.
  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, conferring with management.
  • Use research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills, particularly mathematical modeling and computer-aided design
  • Project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements.
  • Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Provide project management leadership and support for projects that are managed locally or in partnership with corporate teams
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Requisitions components and supplies for engineering projects, interfacing with vendors to obtain price and product information.
  • Estimates budget for each project including cost of personnel and materials.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Supervisory Responsibilities:  


  • Supervise Contractors as required in the day to day and during project installations.
  • Supervise and work with IT , Electricians and Mechanics during installations or modifications.

Education and/or Experience:                                            

Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.E.E.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Be familiar with Industry Standards and codes for related field.

Principles or Certificates in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma

Principles or Certificates in SPC ( Statistical Process Control ) Software. Ex; Infinity QS / DataLyzer Spectrum / Infinity QS ProFicient / MQ1 / etc

Experience with Optical / Video / Radioactive / X-rays Inline Measurement Equipment. Ex: OCS (Optical Control System ) , Thermo EGS (radioactive and X-rays system ) , Beta Control.


Language Skills:                                           

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills:                                                

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.


Reasoning Ability:                                                   

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Computer Skills:                                                      

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Development software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Knowledge of a variety of PLC and SCADA system software packages. Statistical Process Control and Lean Software
