kp is currently looking for a Product Manager Beverage Labels, EMEA/Asia for our Pharma, Health & Durables division who will be responsible from developing and executing the Labels strategy for EMEA and Asia with clear deliverables for top / bottom line growth, geographic and product adjacency expansion, margin improvement, and product management / portfolio MGPP (multi-generational and complete life cycle product planning).  This individual leads the cross functional and cross regional value stream teams with clear accountability for executing sector strategies, product optimization, cost and performance KPI’s, and aligning team to ensure a customer centric orientation.
The base location for this role can be Germany, Spain, Portugal, France or Italy with some amount of travel on a monthly basis to our site in Gendorf (Germany).


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development of marketing, sales, and financial mid-term strategic plan for the product line, coordinating across functions to execute.
  • Manage the product portfolio to ensure a healthy and competitive portfolio, recommending operational changes.
  • Coordinates the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning through tactical execution activities.
  • Identify research and development requirements and drives overall product strategy,  develop and implement innovation plan for the sectors and meet multi-year NPVI (new product vitality index), manufacturing coordination, and product positioning for new and emerging products.
  • Manages the interface of customer requirements and operations through the development of product specifications in conjunction with other Value Stream members.
  • Prepares product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development as well as commercialization strategy for all new products introduced to the market.
  • Provides monthly commentary on general market, sales and profitability trends, customer actions, product developments and other business sector relevant information.
  • Conducts market research and identifies and tracks market trends in company's industry.
  • Provides product line expertise with respect to competitor’s product offerings and relative share of demand as well as produces competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors.
  • Facilitates, in conjunction with the Marketing and Communications teams, promotional activities including, but not limited to, Trade shows, Technical Symposia, Association presentations, as well as case histories, technical articles, communication briefs for all new products in the product line.

Who we are looking for:

You might be a fit with a Bachelor´s degree in Science or with a technical major and a minimum of 3 years business related experiences in product management, esp. in the Labels business. 


Other requirements:

  • Experience with product management or technical or innovation projects in a manufacturing company
  • Market knowledge in relevant industry with deep understanding B2B market
  • Expertise in engineered materials with plastics experience preferred
  • Ability to analyze various data with Excel, especially Pivot functions.
  • Ability to communicate, open-mindedly, to be part of a cross functional global team.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP/BW and other ERP tools
  • Fluent language skills in English; German would be a big advantage
  • Experience in leading cross functional and cross regional teams on a direct or matrix basis
  • A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, strong operational focus and good judgment and reasoning skills, able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, interpret several abstract and concrete variables and draw valid conclusions.
