Purpose of the job:

The Head of Finance Americas and APAC oversees talent management, process orientation, and technical expertise for complex transactions across the entire Group. Responsibilities include quarterly reviews, annual audits, and collaborating with the Global Group Controller to enhance organizational efficiency and internal controls. This role reports to the Global Group Controller in Girona, Spain.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Serve as the authority on complex accounting matters, leading interactions with internal and external audits.
  • Support interim and annual audits for consolidated results.
  • Implement new IFRS accounting standards.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives with teams and corporate partners.
  • Perform balance sheet reviews within sites, as directed by Group Controller or CFO, and support the KP Group Balance Sheet review process.
  • Act as liaison with local teams, SSC, and Group Controllership to ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Support achievement of KPIs for A/R and A/P for sites not managed through SSC.
  • Ensure teams comply with local statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Divisional VPs of Finance on technical accounting matters and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Act as the single point of contact for escalation on external audit matters and internal accounting-related topics.
  • Provide guidance to the region on new, complex accounting issues not covered under Group Accounting policies.
  • Champion and develop finance/accounting talent in the region

 

Management responsibility:

As a key member of the finance leadership team, this position reports directly to the Global Group Controller in Girona, Spain. Additionally, they lead a team of five direct reports (financial controllers) and collaborate with stakeholders across Divisions and operational functions.

 

Functional knowledge and technical skills within own and other areas:

  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving abilities with a track record of taking ownership and achieving goals.
  • Strong technical financial skills with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, capable of upgrading and automating financial systems and policies.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and contemporary business processes driven by data.
  • Proficient in English; knowledge of other languages is advantageous but not required.

 

Educational requirements/qualifications and experience:

  • Several years of experience in a global, complex manufacturing environment with lean resources and progressive leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in IFRS and experience in documenting accounting position memos.
  • Experience in complex transactions like due diligence and debt refinancing.
  • Desirable qualifications include a Certified Public Account (CPA) designation or an MBA with at least three years of public accounting or business consulting experience.
