The Assistant Extruder Operator will be under continual review to measure his/her progress in attaining the required skills. The Assistant Extruder Operator will be responsible for complying to company quality policies, work instructions and for participating in continuous improvement.  Will strive to ensure that his/her actions and production conform to quality standards.

The Assistant Extruder Operator must learn the following listed below:

• Assists operator with proper set-up of extruder, die, takeoff unit, and auxiliary equipment and start-up of machine relative to instructions on a production order.

• The assistant should strive to learn all the responsibilities of the Operator to ensure line is always covered with qualified personnel.

• Complete set-up of winder.

• Performs visual inspection of product coming off the line.

• Complete knowledge of the coating systems and trim knives.

• Assures that all production and quality reports and production logs relative to job are filled out properly.

• Able to perform QC samples.

• Verifies that finished goods are packed correctly.

• Maintains 5S cleanliness of work area to ensure a safe, non-contaminated workplace.

• Notifies the operator of any non-conformance in material or process and is able to adjust controls to correct any nonconformance’s.

• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

• Responsible for complying to the company quality policies, procedures, and work instructions and for participating in continuous improvement.
